Meet the face behind Willow and Dreams!

Welcome to Willow & Dreams!

We are a family owned boutique ran by Brittney Mettke-Powers and my husband Gerard Powers. You will also see cameos from Rhea (12), Milo (8), Luca (7), & Koda (5).

We are huge animal lovers so we can’t forget about our 4 pups! Apollo and Athena are Bernedoodles & Ares and Atlas are Newfypoos. We also have 4 Siberian kittens: Khaleesi, Cersei, Luna and Draco.

Jerry and I are best friends. We met 14 years ago, through his sister in law at a recovery based meeting. (We are both in recovery) We instantly connected and became best friends. I mean it, platonic best friends. We were always in different phases of our lives and/or in other relationships over the years, but we always kept in contact. Fast forward to September of 2018, my marriage is ending- and we run into each other through mutual friends (we haven’t seen each other in a couple of years at this point) and something just was different. 😭 Let’s just say, when you know, you know. Things moved quickly. By early 2019 we were living together- by late 2019 we were engaged, and we married November 2020.

Why start a boutique? So, I actually had a real quick taste running a boutique back in 2017, and I actually really enjoyed most aspects of it. (Except, I wasn’t able to pick my own styles and designs lol) Life kind of took off with my Color Street business (my full time job), and started talking about opening up our independent boutique back in the summer of 2020. It just wasn’t the right time. We were buying a house, getting married, it was mid pandemic, and other reasons- so I put the idea on the shelf. Man, it just didn’t go away! Here is the thing: we love community, we love helping people feel good and confident. This seemed like the perfect way.

This is our fun project! Its something where everyone in the family will have a part of. It will also help Jerry sharpen some skills he is wanting to do and it will allow me to shop for all the things I love and share it with you all!

Why pick the name Willow and Dreams?

I was an army brat, and my most favorite place we ever lived was our home in Weaver, Alabama. We had a beautiful willow tree right out front. So , I have loved willows ever since then- but then, I learned what they symbolize. In many cultures they mean everything from a new life, good luck, adaptability. All things, that have a huge significance to me in many ways.

Dreams- if you know me, self explanatory. I am a huge believer in having dreams. Allowing yourself to be a dreamer, and go after them. No Dream is too big.

So, welcome to Willow & Dreams! We are so glad you’re here. Thank you so much for supporting my family and I on our crazy dreams!

I can’t wait to connect with you all, I am
Super excited to create this community. ❤️
